Be Thou At Peace

Posted by David Hodge on February 27, 2022:

Tony was my beast barracks squad leader. At the time I felt that for some reason, Tony picked me out too be his special new cadet for punishment. That in fact was true, and at the time I hated him for it. but then I eventually figured out that he wanted to prepare me for what was ahead. I was one of the youngest new cadets (17) and entered west point with no special training. Just what I got at a small Vermont high school. Tony knew that if I was going to make it through plebe year academics plus discipline that he needed to give me a crash course in beast barracks, which he did. It took me a long time to realize what Tony did for me, but I finally did. Without the punishment and discipline Tony put me through in Beast, I don't think I would have ever made it all the way through. So thank you Tony, even if it is a bit late.
