Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Dave and Nina Bourland on May 12, 2002:
Dear Dan, What a terrible shock it was for us to learn of your sudden passing! We had just talked with you and learned how proud you were of your newest granddaughter, and how eager you were to be able to see the next one. We heard about your current business interests and your dreams of getting started on the manufacturing of those devices you thought would make it possible for those with hearing impairments to have a better life. How upset you were that Kappa Dos was not planning a dinner party like the one Tom Claffey so cleverly arranged last year in Santa Fe, that we all enjoyed so much! Forgive us! Lord Jesus and Dan for being so thoughtless and busy with other schedules. We thought we had more time?? We had a great time working with you on this very activity, eulogies for fallen classmates, and playing with and watching you display your softball talents. We knew your real love was basketball and you played often back home in Utah. We enjoyed every brief moment, and we will treasure them until we meet again! We wish we had known about your new blood pressure medicine and your habit of using the hot tub. Perhaps a word of caution about staying too long in warm water would have kept you with us until all your dreams were fulfilled! We wish we had known more about your children and where they are and what their dreams are for themselves and their loved ones. We will terribly miss seeing you here in this world, having your good advice and enjoying your kind of humor. We pray that the Peace, "that passes understanding," will be with you and with your family and we look forward to seeing you again in Paradise! Maranatha, Dave and Nina Bourland
