Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Chuck Davis on November 6, 2018:

Wholehearted for Christ, Wes Loffert was one of the most influential men in my life. Whether it was persevering in academics -- not necessarily his forte--racing up and down the fields of friendly strife, or toning the muscles of his body, Wes did it all for the glory of God, fulfilling the Biblical admonition of Colossians 3:17. On one occasion Wes and I were walking the streets of New York City rather late at night after having attended the Billy Graham Crusade. Accosted by two men, of whose intentions we were not at all certain, Wes told them where we had been that night, then laid out for them why it was great to be a Christian. That was quintessential Wes Loffert: fulfilling again a Scriptural admonition always to be ready to give a reason for the hope that we have in Christ. Thank you, Wes, for mentoring me in the Christian faith by your testimony and example.
