Bob Degen was a fabulous athlete. I always enjoyed watching him perform at gymnastics meets in the Central Gym. He was absolutely awesome in the rope climb. Seeing him climb so fast using his arms only was impressive. His untimely death in Vietnam at the hands of an American soldier was a terrible tragedy. |
