Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Cynthia Garlick on February 22, 2017:

His smile was often, his laugh was contagious, and his support was never wavering. He was passionate about his family, his country, and The Dallas Cowboys. A lover of music there wasn't a tune he couldn't carry or a drum set he didn't like . A man who wore many hats, and went by many titles to Aj and I he was Grandpa Rich!

When his son Jim died in 2013, he didn't hesitate to take his grandson under his wing. He would share stories with Aj to keep him engaged in the game of life! He loved to hear of Aj's accomplishments and was most proud when Aj chose to attend Bridgewater College in Harrisonburg Virginia! Now a junior Aj is thriving. Being our life jacket was something he did best. A trait we feel was learned from his brotherhood at West Point. Although he is no longer with us we know that he is overjoyed to be once again with his devoted wife of 50+ years, Pat, and his son, Jim.

Their life jacket will keep us afloat forever! I guess one could say hope floats!

We love you Rich and, as always, Thank you for your Service!
