Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Andrew Marsh on April 12, 2021:

A lot of people got to know Paul Chalmers in a variety of ways, but regardless if you knew him as a Soldier, Husband, Father, Grandfather or Friend I am willing to bet you cherish the time you spent with him and will hold dearly the memories formed in those times.

Paul was a natural leader and it was evident leading fellow soldiers on a mission or leading his grand kids and beloved dogs up a North Georgia hiking trail.

Paul was an avid collector of many things ranging from cigars that he shared with his adult grandsons, classical music he shared with his wife , and wine that he shared with anyone lucky enough to acquire a spot at his table. Immersing himself in learning passionately about all of his interest, he could speak about these subjects with knowledge that most would expect from professional tobacconists, musical historians or sommeliers.

He was the type of man you could go to for advice about anything and always get an educated response on the subject be it finances, politics, German sports cars, foreign affairs or even a good joke or funny story.

Paul and Janice shared a wonderful life together, they were true soulmates and loved each other beyond words.

He lived a LIFE, a full, amazing life too large and grand to be put into words on this page, but a life that will continue in the hearts of the people he influenced, inspired and loved throughout the years, people who are better for knowing a man of his caliber. We will miss him everyday.
