Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Larry Smith on August 27, 2018:

I met "Rex" Good, as he was known, while he and I were cadets in the late 1950's. He was the cadet piano accompanist for the Cadet Glee Club. He was an outstanding pianist. He,Bill Heiberg '61, and I got together many times during cadet glee club trip sections to have some extracurricular fun. After graduation I lost track of Rex until 2007 when we had our first ever reunion of graduates who were members of the glee club at West Point. We performed a concert in 2007 and Rex returned to play piano with our reunion group. Following that event my wife and I visited, over the course of several years, with Rex and his wife Ann at their Summer home on Little Moose Lake within the grounds of the Adirondack League Club in upper New York near the town of Old Forge. We had several delightful Summer visits there. Rex was a joy to be with and we always had a musical encounter. If he saw a piano he would start playing. It's sad to see you go Rex. Larry D.
