Major Hoaas was my commanding officer when I served in the US Army in 1971-72. I was assigned to OPPO Operations in the pentagon and he commanded the company. Simply a first class individual and Command solider. He represented the class and character of a leader and was recognized by the men who reported to him as the best they ever served under.
