Be Thou At Peace

Greetings from Manila, Philippines! Memorial Day 2021 here is bright and sunny -- and a good time to remember my West Point classmate, Bill Stryker. Bill and I belonged to different Regiments, so I never really got to know him well. I do recall him as a shy, but friendly fellow. And quite intelligent too -- he was in the top half of our Class in Academics. Bill and I parted ways on Graduation Day, and our paths never crossed again. He served his country while I served mine. He was a Professor teaching at West Point, when I visited the place in 1976; and there I met some classmates but Bill was not among them. I do know that he put in 20 years of service before he retired. Well done, Bill. Be thou at peace! And now my final salute to my friend and classmate! Brigadier General Ramon M.
