Memorial Day 2017 is a good time to remember my classmate Art Ryan. Art and I belonged to the same half-Regiment, so we had classes together for the entire 4 years. Our academic averages belonged to the same "grade bracket," so we did see each other in the same classroom on many occasions. Art was a bright fellow and had no problems with academics whatsoever. My first impression of Art was that he was the quiet type. In the classroom, he was always formal, poised and confident with his Professors. Outside of the classroom, we had our own lives in the barracks, but his unit (Company B-2) was some distance away from mine (E-2) so we did not have much chance to socialize with each other. After Graduation Day, we never saw each other again. He served his Army and I served mine. Be thou at peace, Art. Here is my final salute! Ray Brigadier General Ramon M.
