| Don was truly a "distinguished" Cadet and friend. He was one of those friends where if you had a particularly thorny issue to deal with--and we occasionally had some--you'd seek his opinion. His gruff voice and Texas humor would soon dispatch whatever it was. Sometimes we'd wonder if he ever took anything seriously, then we'd see his class rank. I got to see his leadership skills up close on the regimental staff our senior year, and it only my respect for him grew. While our paths went different ways since graduation, I have very clear memories of Don. His maturity and leadership certainly had an effect on my life, and I am grateful for that. Well done, Don, and Thanks. |
