Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Keri Jacobs on June 25, 2015:

Hello, This is Keri again. I have now had the privilege of attending a West Point class of '64 BBQ where I met many of Akos' classmates. I learned more of Akos and of Cliff McKittrick.

Many of you know I have a Facebook page and website called 22 Too Many.

A friend of mine posted this on the 22 Too Many page and I thought of Akos - not because of the reference to PTSD, but because of the "Bobcats." I plan on attending this film tomorrow at the Library of Congress. I wonder if any of Akos' classmates (or Akos himself) knew the the veterans from the film?

Here is the background:
"At noon on June 26, in honor of National Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Awareness Day, the Veterans History Project will present a free screening of "I Will Go Back Tonight," a short documentary that explores the effects of PTSD on six veterans of the 5th Infantry Regiment in Vietnam, known as the Bobcats. A Q&A session will follow, featuring the filmmaker Kara Frame, as well as Tom Frame, a veterans from the film, and Scott Gordon, Executive Director of The 296 Project, a nonprofit dedicated to providing free arts therapy to veterans in order to combat PTSD. Interviews from the film will be submitted to the Veterans History Project.

12:00 noon
Mary Pickford Theater, in the Library of Congress' Madison Building,
101 Independence Ave., SE"

I will listen and learn - I believe Akos served with the Bobcats.
