Be Thou At Peace

| I was a second regiment file so I had little contact with John during our years at the Academy but I knew him to say hello. However, I'm sure a whole bunch of us got to know him from the "Ward Book", as many know the class directory he so faithfully produced and published all these years. He has been "our scribe of scribes" who put our life's story to print as we have aged. It is obvious that his efforts with the book were a labor of love for his classmates, that "band of brothers" with whom he shared a common experience. All our lives are much richer because of John and his efforts to keep our class to gether as a group and keep us informed about each other over the years. We should rejoice in his life and cherish the friendship he felt for us all and so apltly demonstrated with his wonderful book. He will be missed. |
