There are those among us that evoke the best in one another. Bob Serio was such a person for me. While we were in a different Regiment and would only occasionally make contact, Bob conveyed an outlook on life that was always positive, kindhearted and yet with an inner strength that is difficult to characterize. When I heard of Bob's death decades ago, the news evoked a sense of sadness that such a promising life would end so soon. And yet, most men's lives are not really measured by the number of years but better by the impact that they had. By that standard, Bob may very well outlive most of us. Another classmate recently encouraged sharing our thoughts on this Eulogy Board. Bob's memory stands tall in that group. |
