Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Jack Price on April 17, 2017:

It's ironic, in a way. Shortly before our class entered West Point, the cadet companies were assigned by height, with JP's company holding the 'flankers, or the tallest of all the cadets. Only M-2 compared. This had all been accomplished by the time we showed up, and JP infiltrated forthwith!

In spite of how similar we all looked, we each had special identifying characteristics. JP was smart! We seldom had classes together, as we attended class sections based on performance, and I was no competition!

JP was the "Little Napoleon" from Badger, out in the Dakotas. He mellowed a bit, as life, and Joan, smoothed out that Dakota dust. I especially like his bow ties! And Joan, who did so much to enhance his public persona.

With hundreds of classmates, it is hard to stand out, but JP did, in so many ways. I miss him

Jack
