Mark and I were fellow 2nd Lt.'s in the 1st squadron, 17th Cavalry. Both, our first assignment in the 82nd Airborne Division. Mark was a good friend of mine. We enjoyed hanging around, listening to Hermans Hermit's and driving around in his MGB convertible, which I used to take care of when he was gone. I was surprised to learn of his death, but always fondly remember our initiation into real Army life, and our mutual experiences as platoon leaders in the Dominican Republic. |
