Be Thou At Peace

| Tom was a yearling when I was a plebe in Company H1, notorious for being 'hell' on 4th classmen. He was fair, humorous, demanding, insistent, and helpful. He tried to keep me and other plebes out of trouble by advising us what to do and what not to do, always with a Southern sense of humor and wise counsel. I am saddened by his passing, as he helped me and others with his intelligence and wit 50 years ago. It was a privilege to have served with him. May he rest in peace. |
