Larry was active with the class ski group from the beginning. He liked the Pentagon Ski Club a little more because it was a lot cheaper, but he tried to make our annual trek to Vail, Aspen, or Park City. Larry needed 4 or so weeks of skiing each year, while the rest were pooped after one week. Our Class of 1964 ski group comes from all over the country and generally numbers from 35 to 50 each year. We proudly named our club the Robert J. Michela Ski Club after our co-founder over 18 years ago. Just got back last night from 19th trip and this time was to Vail. Larry was also a great bridge player. We also do that monthly with a class group in the DC area. He was smart as a whistle. He was in a click of classmate Spanish linguists. Ruth is active with the class, especially the class bridge group and her church.
