| Skip was my recondo buddy at Camp Buckner. From that experience was forged a lifelong friendship. The friendship expanded as we married and our spouses became part of it. I remember clearly the time in 1979 when we visited their home in Hayfield. Sandy, our four children and I rang the doorbell and were greeted by the loudest and deepest "woof" I had ever heard. We cleared the porch as I prepared to sacrifice myself for my family. We were met instead by the friendliest, loving, and biggest dog. It was the same friendliness and love that we received from Skip and Judy. It was also on that visit that Skip labeled our two daughters "Frank and Jesse James", which they treasure to this day. It is because of Skip and classmates like him that 64 is what it is. I will miss him and my heart aches for Judy, Mike and Chris. |
