Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Jack Price on August 18, 1999:

Well, Hank, I just looked at the photos Curt Davis sent out from the memorial visit to your grave site. In spite of your dying wish to have a vertical headstone, after having spent most of your life reclining in a wheelchair, you're solidly horizontal! But AOG did help to get a nice academy crest incised into the marble. You'd be pleased.

The memories that wash over me looking at this! The reunions we spent together, the many times you visited and watched our kids grow up, the week we spent scuba diving in the Caymans after the 10th reunion. They couldn't believe we were going to take you, a quad, down on the reefs! But, damn, if we didn't!

You were a good man, Hank. An example to those of us who had to face problems which paled into insignificance compared to yours.

And you WERE a hell raiser. I never met a man who could slurp more marinated snails than you... I still tell a lot of stories about you, and the kids have deep memories!

I miss you.. Jack Price
