Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Joe Bob Lake on February 7, 2017:

I had the privilege of being with Dick all four years at West Point from C-1 to G-1. I was only 17 years old when I entered the Academy and Dick was very kind to help me bridge the gap between civilian and military life. Dick was a Russian language "hive" and Jose Muratti and I held the honors in Portuguese but we both conceded that Dick had the tougher language to master. I have fond memories of Dick's unflappable reaction to adversity and his genuine concern for the welfare of his classmates. He always stood at the ready to help a classmate when needed. In a few words Dick Puckett in my opinion was one of the really good guys in our class. I know I can speak for all of G-1 that he will be sorely missed and will be remembered always. "Be thou at peace".
