| This is for Skeet, who was the only remaining member of our class who smoked and drank as much as I have. I ought to slow down. Beth and I enjoyed the days we spent with Skeet and Dagmar at the 40th reunion. We commuted at least once daily (sometimes twice) from Newburgh to West Point in a car I rented, and with Bob and Carolann Wright spent nearly three full days in eachother's company, becoming nearly kids again. Laughing together is great medicine as you age with friends...it almost makes one forget his mortality. I already miss Skeet as a member of the Bayou Brotherhood and a good friend. Eh bien, mon ami, vous m'attendez maintenant. Nous allons nous rencontrer encore, en un autre lieu! Be thou at peace, brother. |
