Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Dempsey Darrow on April 6, 2018:

Only a book could do justice to this man's life and exploits. Ranger Jack was a true American hero who volunteered for duty in Vietnam after graduation from West Point because, as he told me, "I had to, all my classmates were being sent over there." Severely wounded while in country, Jack met his future wife, Sam, while convalescing in a stateside hospital. She was his nurse.

Jack was one of the core individuals who founded the pioneer online networking group commonly known as West Point Org, the organization which now fittingly hosts his eulogies. His leadership and guidance helped grow it from a nerd idea into a groundbreaking marvel. A tireless worker, his personal daily reveille was at 0400 to tend to his duties. I witnessed this personally while a guest at his home because he always managed to wake me.

Jack was a good friend and a guiding light.

Watch yer topknot, Jack, an' keep yer powder dry. See you at the next Rally Point.
