Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Roger Anderson on January 6, 2023:

Sorry to hear about his passing. For the most part, he was a "No nonsense" officer who even managed to keep me in line. George Joulwan can tell you that was a task. I saw a lot of guy's come and go from the company, and in 20/20 hindsight he was usually right when he told guy's to pack their bags.
One thing he did do is allow us to rob the division Quartermaster blind, Every guy in the company had a thick mattress when not on a mission and some of the loot was used to trade with the AF for our camouflaged fatigues. We weren't allowed to rob our neighbors but Division was fair game. Once he even sent Lahara to Saigon with a convoy with orders to come back with a jeep. Some MP came up missing a jeep and the M-60 that came with it.
Anyway, I'm sorry to hear of his passing I would have liked to have gone over those days 55 years ago.
