Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Howard Wilson on July 13, 2010:

I was in the second regiment during our years at the academy and came to know Dee during the second beast detail of Cow year. I think he was the most easy going, friendly classmate I met during my four years there. He may have had a casual manner about him but he was serious about becoming an army officer. On the other hand he could be a lot of fun, he took Dave Ugland, Charlie Miller and me home with him for a weekend just before our beast detail was to start. Dee, with his Hollywood good looks was a babe magnet and Charlie Miller being the life of the party, a good time was had by all. It was a memorable time but I'm saddened to say I am last surviving of that weekend at this writing. I will always remember Dee as a class act. This farewell is long over due.
