Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Jack Price on February 9, 2014:

All of us classmates have spent time at West Point as cadets. Others have passed through as military staff, instructors, or alumni personnel over the years. Seth is unique in that his thread in this fabric of the experience we call West Point wove through all these patterns and colors.

There was never a time when I was at West Point, that Seth was not there. From sharing the experience of that strange Brigadoon called the Lost Fifties, to stopping by the always-open-door office at the AOG. Seth was our pied-à-terre.

It was Seth at AOG, who donated the first money to buy a printer for what would eventually become WP-ORG. It was a fateful decision to let WP-ORG mature outside the official turf, and gave us freedom to arrive where we are today.

The many offices Seth filled required him to fulfill a cultural role as complex as playing that magnificent organ in the Cadet Chapel. He gained the respect of all those he dealt with in the process.

Of all our classmates, there is none who have left a more enduring footprint at our rock bound highland home. I expect he will be doing similarly on the shadow side of the Long Gray Line.

And, for those of you who possess one of those hand crafted and painted wooden Army mules.. Hold on to them!! Paintings Picasso gave away to pay small bills at the time are now worth large fortunes!

May God bless you, Seth, and Joy, in these times, but know your classmates treasure the years we have shared...
