Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Dempsey Darrow on February 10, 2014:

Simply put, were it not for Seth Hudgins I would not today be a West Point graduate and Army Ranger. Many years ago he put his personal and professional reputations on the line on behalf of an errant cadet seemingly bent upon making his life miserable.

It was Seth's intercession during a Commandant's Disciplinary Board that compelled the board not to expel that cadet, who can most aptly be described as a monumental disciplinary pain in the ass.

Seth then sent the cadet to Ranger School during summer training of 1973 with the caveat: "Come back without The Tab for any reason other than medical and you'll pack your bags here at West Point as well."

Seth's impact upon my life was second only to that of my own father.

Seth Hudgins...Tactical Officer, mentor, soldier. Sleep in peace, my friend. Well Done.

Class of 1975, F4
Ranger 501-73
