Jeff and I were in Company E-2 together for our first two years at West Point. I remember him well during Plebe year. I was seventeen and right out of high school, while Jeff was an "old man" with about three years of college. His ability to handle the rigors of the fourth class system, even though he was older than most of the upperclassmen, gave me an example to follow. Jeff was unfailingly good natured and able to navigate those difficult times with good humor. I have known Jeff now for nearly forty years and I have many pleasant memories of him, however, those from early Plebe year remain the strongest to this day. I will miss him. Marty Michlik |
