There are no easy words. But the memories flow easily and fast. Geoff and I were roommates in L2 for part of our First Class Year. But the easiest memory flows from Fort Benning in Airborne School (Class 6) in the late summer of 1964. Bill Landgraf, Barry McCaffrey, Geoff Kleb and I carpooled in those hot summer days. It was great riding with Geoff because he was the only one with an air conditioned car. (His dad was an undertaker, and I guess he got some special car deals!) No lieutenant in those days had air conditioning!! |
