| Tom, Bill McMakin & I were Beast roomies from 5 Jul 1960. Me, having absolutely no military experience whatsoever, would look up from whatever spas(tic) I was in the middle of at the moment (they were quite frequent) only to see Tom with a strange smile on his face. Was it sadistic joy?, pity?, some combo? At just the right time, he would step in and instruct me how to, what to ... I did not see much of him after we went into our regularly assigned co's that I recall. But, I will never forget him! |
