Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Gary Cecchine on August 21, 2009:

I was fortunate to room with Bill and Mike Conway in G-1 the second semester of plebe year and again with Bill the second semester of yearling year.

At reveille one morning yearling year I was a plebe chaser and had to rush back to our room for my raincoat when the flag changed late. I grabbed Bill's by mistake - I was 5'9' and 150#. Our squad leader appreciated his 2 yearlings showing up in floor length and knee length raincoats.

On the way to AOT Germany, we took a 5 day leave in Paris along with Pete D'Alessandro and Tom Faulds. $5 dollars a day - Hotel bath was at the end of the hall. USO for showers and American coffee. Wine, cheese and baguettes for lunch. Third class train ticket from Paris to Frankfurt. Life was good.

Enjoyed seeing Bill and Alex at our last reunion.

Alex, please keep in touch with the class.
