Be Thou At Peace

| Our friendship began when his family gave me a ride back from my visit with a relative in New Hampshire during spring leave yearling year. Jim kept me laughing as we formed an unlikely bond between classmates from Vermont and Georgia. The friendship endured beyond cadet years. Once years later he brought Gini and me hot bagels to our guest house room at Ft. Hamilton when he was garrison commander there. We reconnected with him and Jeanne at Carlisle Barracks late in our active duty years. What a fun, spirited, and committed friend he was. I will always cherish his encouraging ways. |
