Be Thou At Peace

Posted by John Bresnahan on July 7, 2009:

It is with great sadness that I just learned of Earl Kelton's passing. I remember Earl from my years as a self employed buiness owner in Greenfield, Massachusetts. Earl would ship out his valuable books through my Mail Boxes Etc Store. He was a loyal customer, outstanding person and good friend. We would often discuss famous writers; my favorite being James Joyce. One day he handed me a poem by E.E. Cummings which I still have to this day: "It was a small church, no grand cathederal..." We often talked and he would reminisce about the sports car which he sold to purchase his home on Bernardston Road in Greenfield and his affection for it as well as the Acura sports car he drove at the time. He offered to lend it to me a few times for a quick spin around the block - but I didn't dare. Rest in Peace old friend.
