| It's hard to believe that 20 years passed since Dave left us. I considered him a dear friend not only from our cadet days but especially when our paths crossed in the Army. Dave helped get me into the 3rd ID when MG Patton directed my reassignment from an Engineer billet to an Infantry position. Eventually, Dave became my boss as XO of the 1st Brigade while I was the S3. We had a great time together. Later when we each commanded battalions at different posts, we frequently shared experiences and ideas. Dave was always fun to be around and I miss him terribly. |
