John: It has been so many years since we were together in Germany in Company C, 1st Battalion 15th Infantry. You were there to help me make the transition from young West Point Graduate and new 2nd LT to dedicated Regular Army Officer. You were my inspiration and my friend. I still have your letter from Vietnam received shortly before your death. I came to your funeral and wept with Nancy at your loss. I think of you often old friend. Be thou at peace. Michael J.
