Duncan and I re-connected years after graduation as near neighbors in the same small town. He had just published his first book, I think it was on Silicon Valley engineering management. We went to the occasional 49ers game together with our wives and became good friends. Meeting for breakfast with Duncan and John Swensson became routine, a special time of sharing. Duncan was special. Smart, but humble. A heart of gold, empathetic and caring. Stoic and uncomplaining, more interested in helping than in being helped. Duncan dealt with his VN experiences in a very personal way and went the extra mile to help other vets. Duncan loved to sing! He shared many stories of his choral trips and concerts. Duncan, we'll miss you. Ralph |
