Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Joe McChristian, Jr. on February 17, 2010:

I could not hold back the tears. I loved John as a brother, enjoyed his company as a friend, admired him as a man, respected him as a professional, and was inspired by his eternal optimism and exemplary spirit. He was gentle, yet strong. He was humble, yet proud. He was passionate and tolerant. John epitomized the man Kipling wrote about in the poem "If". It was my great good fortune to have John as my roommate our entire First Class Year. I feel we have all lost a part of ourselves, temporarily, with his passing. He treasured his friendships with all of us. Grip hands, and may we remember him forever. John led a life to celebrate and set an example to emulate.

My prayers are with him and all his family and friends.
