Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Gene W. Ray on October 16, 2013:

It is with great sadness that I write these words at this time. Ed was my trusted business partner and above all, a great friend. We began working together in 1968 when Ed was a young Air Force Captain and I worked for the Air Force as a civilian. We continued working together at SAIC when Ed left the AF. Ed and I later sat down together in a local restaurant with Sue and laid out a plan with pen in hand on a cocktail napkin for partnering together to start The Titan Corporation. We did not use, nor want, any legal documents to seal the deal nor even a firm handshake...I trusted Ed completely and our verbal agreement that night was all that was needed.

Ed was a man of enormous character, utmost integrity, honor, compassion, generosity, dedication, determination and empathy. I could go on and on. He fought his personal health issues with courage, strength and optimism and on the occasions when I spoke with him, his spirit never seemed to wane. I can still hear his infectious laughter. My thoughts are with Sue (his rock), his boys and the grandkids he adored. I will greatly miss my friend.
