Marcella and I will always remember David for his kindness and generosity. He and Ilse have been our friends for many years. We really got to know them through Marcella's parents (Marty and Bob deLaar-yes Bob-Lucky deLaar's parents, as well). Ilse and David who lived on Long Island (after he left active Service) used to drive over to the deLaar's on those Friday nights prior to an Army home football game, spend the night, and then travel with them up to West Point for a terrific tailgate put on by the deLaar's prior to the game. We would see Dave and Ilse at the Spring golf outings put on by Bob Radcliffe. We will really miss those times together. Rest in peace, David. Ilse we, as well as many others, are here for you.
