Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Lynne Skibinski on February 26, 2001:

My heart remains sadden by Wayne's untimely death.

My first memories of Wayne go back 30 some years when I met Wayne through my then to be fiance Jim. Jim and Wayne were childhood friends. Jim, Wayne, Susie and myself spent many fun times together.

Jim and I went to their wedding at West Point, I was very excited about that, I couldn't wait for them to walk under the crossed swords. We had many good times together, we went to an Army,Navy game in Chicago, spent time with them with their then little baby boy Brian and our two little ones Laura and Chris in Ann Arbor, Mi, took our families to Disney World, saw them while they were in Kansas City.

When Wayne and Susie were in Hawaii we spent a Christmas with our familes there and had grand time. They even adopted our daughter, Laura, for about 6 weeks while she spent the summer of her 15th year with them in Hawaii. Many years later Wayne and Susie attended her wedding in Virginia. My mother met Wayne at the wedding and he told her that Laura was like a second daughter to him.

Wayne is going to be missed by so many. He left his mark on my heart but I will always treasure the memories.
