Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Kimberly Jacobson on December 1, 2021:

It is hard to believe is has already a couple of weeks have passed since Dad died.

While we had a complicated father/daughter relationship, I loved him and truly miss him. I had hoped to spend some time with prior to Thanksgiving to hold his hand again and tell him I love him.

There are so many memories which are flooding back, but the biggest thing I miss so far is his hearty voice and laugh.

Dad had such a hearty laugh that would shake his upper body when he was truly laughing. He would always find the best seat in the house to watch college football or baseball. I remember one Saturday where Dad spent a full afternoon watching college football and he would not move because he did not want to give up his good seat to Simon...a Giants fan. He loved to give Simon a really hard time for being a Giants fan and not a Jets fan.

Lucy looks up at the stars at night to try to find which one is the brightest and says that is where Grampy is.

Dad, I pray you have found the peace you so deserve. I love you. Kim
