Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Orlin Mullen on May 11, 2015:

I met Joe Weatherall as we reassembled from Beast Barracks to Company D-2. I was immediately taken by Joe's genuinely warm personality and his sincerity. As an Okie from Muskogee, Joe's soft Texas accent pleasantly reminded me of home.

Joe was always ready to help anyone who needed anything. His warm heart and broad smile graced his tall frame like a beacon in the night. I cannot recall an unpleasant minute between anyone and this most gracious of classmates.

Because Joe was highly intelligent, he was very always popular when anyone in company D-2 needed help solving tough academic challenges. Always polite, gracious and self-effacing, he seemed to me to be the ideal cadet and a true gentleman. It is difficult to grasp Joe Weatherall's passing but it is reassuring to know that our Class of Strength and Drive has made such a blessed contribution to the Long Gray Line.
