Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Bob Frank on January 19, 2022:

Steve was the sweetest guy I ever knew. He was gentle, kind and caring. I don't know if Steve could be cross because I never saw him in such a state. Nor did I ever hear him raise his voice. Steve had an impact on my service as he was my assignment officer for a period of time. He was helpful in a way that underscored his determination to do the right thing for me and for the Army. I treasure my time with Steve - both professional time and personal time. Anne and he were kind enough to host us in New Bern, where Steve led the way on the golf course and Anne gave us the most incredible docent tour of New Bern. Mary & I were overwhelmed by Anne and Steve's hospitality and friendship. We are saddened that we will not see this gentle man again on this earth. But he is with the angels, and that gives us peace of mind. A life full of love and humanity. Well done, Steve! Be thou at peace!
