In the entire range of cadet experience, from the depths of Gloom Period to the heights of our final June Week, John's presence always made things better. Immensely personable, he had a natural gift for making his companions feel that they and their problems mattered, both to him personally and in the general scheme of things. His enthusiasm for life was both engaging and contagious -- I will never forget the dance clinics he held in his room, wherein the less funky among us were taught to do a passable frug or jerk. The distinguished Class of 1965 has lost one of its true stalwarts, and we are much the less for his passing. |
