John Francis Concannon

West Point, 1965

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Peter L. Cullen on March 27, 2015:

John Concannon was a great friend who I knew from the A/2/12 Infantry Assn. composed of Vietnam veterans who served in that unit from late 1965 to Dec 1967. John was a brilliant man who was a great conversationalist on a wide range of topics. I enjoyed his recollection of Gen. Douglas MacArthur's farewell address at West Point when John was a cadet at West Point in the 1960s. He was a patriot who actively served his country as an Army officer in Vietnam and many other duty stations around the world. He had a distinguished career in the U.S. Army, retiring as a colonel. He was a true gentleman, family man, and friend to many old soldiers and people he met over the years! I will miss his warm smile and friendship. The United States and world will be a poorer place without him. God bless him and his family! R.I.P. Pete Cullen
