| STEP, news of your passing was a stake through my heart. It is impossible to describe how much I relished seeing Forum post from you, and all those class posts from your years as our Scribe. Your incisive wit and rapier-like use of the English language always brought howls of delight to me. Being a fellow grammar Nazi like you, my soul was comforted by your castigating faux pas like ending sentences with prepositions and splitting infinitives. Even your last words to us contained cautions about grammatical atrocities. Know that you have enriched all our lives and no abuse of the language will ever pass my screen without a fond memory of how you would have skewered the author. Rest well my friend and save me a seat next to you at Fiddler's Green. |
