| I had the privilege and honor to work with Step on the 100th Night Show, Sadder Budweiser. I got to experience his brilliance. He wrote it and I directed it. Then the fun began. His original draft was a work of art. I still have it with my scribbled changes in the margin because I had to make it work with the stage, actors, music and movement. Can you imagine debating with Step Tyner? We finished the rewrites with hugs so all went well. The show was held over two extra nights because New York theater critics came the first night and their rave reviews brought in the Big Apple crowd. He was truly a genius and I will miss him. |
