I was a plebe in Company M-1. That is how I first came to know Nate. It wasn't until upper-class years, later, while I was in Company A-1 that I got to really know Nate better. While we were never what you'd call 'close'; I knew and respected Nate as a classmate and human-being. We never served together after commissioning, but Nate had already earned for himself that reputation for excellence, commitment and solidarity, that was to follow him all his life! Nate, we have lost truly one of our great ones in you! Be thou at Peace! |
