Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Dick Williams on January 24, 2003:

Jack and I were brought together in the Skydiving Club. We made a number of demonstration jumps at places like Ft Dix and Ft Monmouth. A member of the Cadet Skydiving Team Jack was the most jovial and funloving of us all. I double dated with Jack and Paula McMinn, a lovely English lady, whom he later married. I remember when she was egged on to lock him in the trunk of his new Pontiac Grand Prix as a joke. The problem was he had the keys in his pocket! We finally got him out and he treated it with his usual sense of humor. Jack was a great guy. I was in the 82nd at Ft Bragg when we got the word that he died in Viet Nam. His funeral in Suffolk was very solemn and sad. Many classmates were there and we were eternally affected. Jack will be missed but never forgotten.
