Be Thou At Peace

Posted by G. Jerry Merges on January 4, 2022:

Frank was a joy to be around! His positive attitude, willing smile, and boundless enthusiasm lit up the room and lifted the spirits of all, at USMA and in the years that followed.

I intersected with Frank over the years in our financial services careers in Florida, often meeting at various trade shows and conferences throughout the state, as well as sharing the brotherhood of the First Cavalry Division. He was committed to his clients and always placed their interests first in all transactions. He had a thirst for professional knowledge and used his continuing education to the betterment of those he served.

When the '65 gang started the West Point Society of the Villages, Frank and Susan encouraged our team(Gnau,Appler, Steinwald) to get the Society rolling and always participated in our Founder's Day dinners.

I even corralled him to be our guest of honor and main speaker one year, too!
He gave an inspiring speech, full of the good humor and anecdotes that made him a huge hit with the grads and spouses. A good number of classmates from throughout the state came to support Frank and our group, making it a mini-reunion of sorts.

I admired his strong faith and have the assurance that we will meet again in our heavenly home. Well done, my brother. Rest in the arms of our Lord.
